The elections during the group’s AGM on Thursday (May 2) also saw Systemair’s head of group public affairs Morten Schmelzer voted in as vice-president.

This year’s election also saw the addition of the group’s first female board member in Lubna Shaikh, senior business development manager at Trosten, the Dubai-based centralised air conditioning and kitchen ventilation equipment manufacturer.

The other members of the new board are:
Pieter Jan Dewulf (general manager, Baltimore Aircoil Middle East)

During the meeting, members approved an updated working plan, which includes further initiatives in education and awareness raising, a stronger focus on the refrigerant transition in light of the expected ratification of the Kigali Amendment by GCC countries and strategic partnerships with regional organisations active in the field of capacity building.
