ASERCOM and AHRI to co-operate
FRANCE: ASERCOM has signed a memorandum of understanding with the US body AHRI to co-operate in regulatory, standards, and certification activities.
The agreement was signed at the recent ASERCOM agm in Nice, which also saw the election of a new ASERCOM board member, consultant, committee chairman and convener.
The European refrigeration component manufacturers group ASERCOM and the US Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute say they will use the new memorandum of understanding to identify areas of mutually beneficial co-operation and to further strengthen the longtime relationship between the two organisations. Specifically, the two bodies see co-operation in regulatory, standards and certification activities.
The agreement was signed by AHRI president and CEO Stephen Yurek and his opposite number at ASERCOM, Claude Blanc.
During the agm, ASERCOM announced that Giovanni Dorin, marketing director of Italian refrigeration compressor manufacturer Officine Marion Dorin, was elected as ASERCOM’s newest board member.
The board now comprises seven members: Stephane Nassau of Danfoss Commercial Compressors as chairman, with Giuseppe Galli of Frascold as vice chairman; Torsten Keller-Carnap of Emerson Climate Technologies (treasurer) and board members Giovanni Dorin of Officine Marion Dorin, Rainer Grosse-Kracht of Bitzer, Gerard Bastiaansen of GEA Refrigeration and Francois Massé of Tecumseh.
Additionally, at the last certification meeting, Julian Pfaffl of Bitzer Kühlmaschinenbau, was appointed to serve as the chairman of ASERCOM’s certification committee. Jan Jedlicka of Emerson Climate Technologies is now Convener of the certification committee for compressors and Marco Perri of Frascold, convener of the certification committee for condensing units.
Christian Desjardins is now working as a consultant for the ASERCOM condensing unit certification.
