Beijer Ref agrees second US purchase

SWEDEN/USA: Swedish wholesaler Beijer Ref has signed an agreement to acquire its second outlet in the USA.

Following the purchase of Heritage Distribution Holdings in December, Beijer Ref is now set to acquire the assets of AMSCO Supply, an HVAC wholesaler serving contractors in the Midwest and Southwest United States including Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.

Founded in 1974 and headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, claims annual sales of around $45m.

AMSCO operates in territories adjacent to Beijer Ref’s current holdings in the US and is said to have strong alignment with Beijer Ref’s key suppliers in the US region.

Beijer Ref says the company will continue to operate under its own brand, with the existing management rolling over investment into Beijer Ref’s US platform and continuing to run the business.
