Bitzer acquires ORC specialist

Bitzer CFO Frank Hartmann (left) agrees the deal with Jiří Musílek, MD of BPower

GERMANY: Compressor manufacturer Bitzer has acquired the Czech organic Rankine cycle specialist BPower.

This acquisition will enable Bitzer to expand its portfolio in the use of waste heat by offering components and organic Rankine cycle systems. It will give end users access to the full range of necessary ORC services, including planning, project engineering, installation and customer service.

Based in Havlíčkův Bro, BPower was founded in 2009 as an investment company in the field of renewable energy sources. Gradually, the company developed into an engineering company and, since 2011, has been closely cooperating with the world’s leading manufacturers of ORC systems.

In 2017, Bitzer acquired US company ElectraTherm, a leading organic Rankine cycle systems manufacturer based in Flowery Branch, USA.
