Carel partners with IoT company SECO

ITALY: Carel has signed an agreement with SECO SpA, an IoT and AI analytics software development specialist, to design a new refrigeration and air conditioning control and monitoring system. 

The objectives of the collaboration is to produce a new supervision system which will allow the implementation of advanced digital-based solutions with real-time monitoring and intelligent control of field devices to increase efficiency by maximising performance and improving overall reliability.

Based in Arezzo, Italy, SECO develops and creates solutions for the digitalisation of industrial products and processes. SECO’s hardware and software offering enables B2B companies to introduce edge computing, IoT, data analytics and artificial intelligence in their businesses. 

The first samples for field tests will be available by mid-2025, while series production is expected to begin later that year. The two companies are exploring additional collaboration opportunities that may enable Carel to create devices to improve the user experience, through the integration of Edge AI.
