Chinese customs seizes R22 export shipment

CHINA: Customs officers from the Foshan Customs Office in Shunde are reported to have intercepted an illegal export of 20 cylinders of ozone-depleting R22.

According to the Guangzhou Daily, the R22 was amongst a shipment of “hazardous chemicals” mis-declared as “toys” by the exporter. 

R22 is included on China’s Import and Export Controlled Ozone Depleting Substances List and requires an export license.
