CUBA: The first plant in Latin America capable of incinerating ozone depleting refrigerants will soon become operational in Cuba.
According to the Telesur website, the project will be carried out at a cement factory in Sancti Spiritus as part of a strategy developed by Cuba and the Multilateral Fund of the Protocol of Montreal through the UN Development Programme (UNDP).
Cuba is said to have over 130 tons of R12 and R22 currently in storage.
