Daikin digs in with 13,000 trees

ROMANIA: Air conditioning manufacturer Daikin’s Romanian subsidiary will be planting 13,000 trees to highlight the importance of healthy air in any environment.

The campaign to plant a tree for each air conditioner sold from June 5 to September 15, exceeded the anticipated target of 10,000 trees. As a result, Daikin Romania will now be planting 13,000 trees in nine Romanian counties on November 18.

“The idea of the campaign started from an internal initiative in autumn last year when we managed to mobilise in a few weeks more partners and to donate the necessary amount for planting 1,400 seedlings in an area affected by landslides in Teleorman County,” explained Alina Turcitu, marketing coordinator Daikin Romania.

“We believe in the power of the example and that together we can do more to protect nature. So, we thought to involve Daikin customers in the story of a greener future, and for each split air-conditioning unit purchased this summer, we will plant a tree,” he added.
