Daikin invests in ESG company Asuene
13th June 2025
JAPAN: Daikin has invested in Asuene Co Ltd, a Tokyo-based startup company that provides services to visualise CO2 emissions and support decarbonisation and ESG management.
The amount of Daikin’s investment has not been revealed but it was formalised through a third-party allocation of new shares and adds to a total funding in Asuene of US$73.7m.
Through this collaboration, the company will combine Asuene’s services with Daikin’s air conditioning equipment and energy management systems to provide circular solutions that support corporate decarbonisation to global markets, primarily in North America and Japan.
The companies say that by integrating Asuene’s platform with Daikin’s HVAC equipment and building management systems, the partnership will provide companies with a seamless, one-stop solution to measure, reduce, and report emissions. This end-to-end approach—from carbon accounting to practical implementation—will, they say, help companies reduce energy costs and accelerate their sustainability efforts.
The deal was handled by Daikin’s Technology and Innovation Centre CVC Office, which was established in November 2019 to promote collaboration with startup companies.
