Danfoss backs female Worldskills engineer

UAE: Danfoss is sponsoring the only female engineer to compete in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning category of the forthcoming WorldSkills 2017.

Roudha Bin Bahr is the first woman from the UAE to enter the WorldSkills competition in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning category. Roudha is employed by Sharjah-based Danfoss customer SKM Air Conditioning LLC.

The WorldSkills competition, which takes place from October 15-18, will see competitors from 77 countries competing in 51 skill competitions. The refrigeration and air conditioning competition will see 23 young engineers battle it out for the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

“As part of our partnership, Roudha has access to all of the components and materials required for the competition, as well as over 30 hours of hands-on, expert training with one of our technical engineers Sami Jamil,” commented Ziad Al-Bawaliz, the Senior Director of Danfoss Cooling Turkey, Middle East and Africa.

Motivated by being the first UAE based female engineer to compete in the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning category, Roudha Bin Bahr thanked Danfoss for its support. “I have learned so much from my time with my mentor, Sami Jamil. This is one of the most exciting parts of this experience and I find him very inspiring,” she said.
