EBM-Papst bought by US company Madison for $5.4bn

USA/GERMANY: Madison Air Solutions, a Chicago-based company with over 30 air quality solutions brands, is set to acquire German fan and motor systems manufacturer EBM-Papst for $5.4bn.
Headquartered in Mulfingen, Germany, and founded in 1963, EBM-Papst is a leading global supplier of high-performance airflow technology and a pioneer in integrated EC fan and motor systems, with more than 250 million fans installed worldwide.
Operating in approximately 40 countries, EBM-Papst is forecast to generate approximately $2.8bn of revenue and approximately $343m of adjusted EBITDA this year.

Madison Air Solutions was founded in 2017, growing through strategic acquisitions of major climate and ventilation brands. In April of this year, the company completed a landmark $2.2bn initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange, one of the largest industrial public listings in decades.
It has a portfolio of over 30 brands, including Addison, AprilAire, Big Ass Fans, Broan-NuTone, Nortek Air Solutions, Nortek Data Center Cooling and Reznor.
