EBM-Papst to expand in Romania
6th May 2025
ROMANIA: German motors and fans manufacturer EBM-Papst is investing €30m factory and development centre in Oradea, northwest Romania.
Since its foundation in 2017, EBM-Papst Romania has developed into an important location within the group of companies with around 500 employees and an annual turnover of almost €70m.
The facility will be constructed on a new 55,000m² site in Oradea’s Industrial Park II. It will merge its current production facility and the Group Service Centre, into one location.
The first construction phase covers an area of 20,000m². The new building, which is scheduled for completion by May 2026, will include office space and a research and development centre in addition to production and warehouse areas.
The site also provides the option to expand by a further 10,000m² in the future.
“At the new site, we will develop and produce intelligent and highly efficient fans with low energy consumption and a long service life, primarily for commercial refrigeration technology,” explained Frank Mayer, EBM-Papst Group COO and CEO of Air Technology Europa.
“With this investment, we are paving the way for even more modern job opportunities in the economic region Oradea – we want to grow to almost 1000 employees by 2030,” revealed EBM-Papst Romania MD Delia Ungur.
