Engie Axima expands BIM interests
FRANCE: Engie Axima, the refrigeration and climate control business, has acquired SXD, a French consulting firm specialising in BIM.
SXD is a Paris-based technical design office created in 2010, specialising in the management of BIM. The company provides detailed engineering services as well as technical and architectural coordination services, implementing BIM processes in every phase of its projects. SXD is said to have been one of the pioneers of BIM, and has been involved in iconic projects such as the Louis Vuitton Foundation, the redevelopment of the Lausanne Station, the Saint-Gobain Tower, the Sisters Tours or the construction of the Doha metro.
The acquisition follows Engie Axima’s purchase of another BIM specialist, Decode BIM, last November.
SXD and its 35 employees now join Engie Axima as a subsidiary of Engie’s BIM Factory, an entity responsible for developing and delivering BIM products.
“To harness the maximum potential of BIM, we need to mobilize a collective intelligence, made up of diverse and complementary skills and experiences. Thanks to SXD, BIM Factory is acquiring new references, new know-how and a critical mass in order to better meet the needs of its customers,” said Raphaël Contamin, director of BIM Factory.
