EPEE appoints Thie as technical consultant

BELGIUM: EPEE, the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment has appointed Stefan Thie as technical consultant.

Thie’s main task will be to provide technical support to the Secretariat on all HVACR matters. He will also contribute, from a technical perspective, to the longer term vision of the association, and represent EPEE at external events.

He will mostly work on Ecodesign but will also cover energy efficiency, F-gas, and any other technical issues that are critical for the association.

Describing EPEE’s broad portfolio and strong focus on energy efficiency, EPEE director general Andrea Voigt said: “Extending our team has therefore become a necessity as in this fast evolving context, where energy is a top priority, it is more important than ever to combine political intelligence with in-depth technical expertise. We are delighted to welcome Stefan, who will provide great added value to our association. He combines broad technical knowledge with more than 20 years of experience in the HVACR sector and knows our members very well.”

Before joining EPEE, Stefan Thie was deputy general manager at Fujitsu General (Euro) GmbH. His responsibilities included sales, technical and environment issues, product management and certification. As part of this position, he was active in EPEE and was chair of the market surveillance working group from 2010 to 2014. Prior to this, he was head of design at heat exchangers and heat recovery systems manufacturer SEW and a project engineer at Moenchengladbach-based contractor Risch Kälte & Klimatechnik.
