Greek authorities intercept more illegal refrigerant
26th May 2024GREECE: Authorities in Florina, north-western Macedonia, have again been active in the interception of illegal refrigerants, arresting four people involved in an illegal shipment last week.
The shipment of 200 cylinders of an unnamed refrigerant, weighing more than two tonnes, is said to have lacked import, customs clearance and customs clearance documents.
The four people were arrested by police officers of the Krystallopigi Border Guard Department. Those involved were described as three “foreigners” aged 60, 33 and 29 and a 52-year-old Greek citizen. The nationalities of the foreigners is not revealed.
A preliminary investigation into the case was initiated by the Krystallopigi Border Guards, while the case file will be submitted to the Kastoria prosecutor office.
Last month, Krystallopigi border guards arrested an Albanian van driver for illegally transporting more than three tonnes of HFC refrigerant.
