Guidance coming on new EN378 standard
21st December 2016UK: Both FETA and the IoR are said to be preparing guidance to the changes contained in the new refrigeration safety standard EN378:2016.
The long-awaited standard, which is particularly related to the use of flammable refrigerants and A2L classification, appears in four parts: basic requirements, definitions, classification and selection criteria; design, construction, testing, marking and documentation; installation site and personal protection; operation, maintenance, repair and recovery.
The IoR says that its Refrigeration Codes of Practice are currently being revised to reflect the changes and will be republished to members early in 2017.
