Heatcraft to adopt R455A

USA: Commercial refrigeration product manufacturer Heatcraft is said to be developing new walk-in unit coolers, condensing units and condensers to operate on the lower GWP refrigerant R455A.

Developed and marketed by Honeywell as Solstice L40X, R455A is an A2L blend of R1234yf, R32 and CO2 and has a GWP of just 146.

“Our team at Heatcraft constantly works to develop the latest refrigeration equipment that offers the supermarkets and retailers we serve a way to advance their sustainability targets and save money,” said Heatcraft vice president and general manager Bob Landi. “Trusted, low-GWP, energy-efficient refrigerants such as Honeywell Solstice L40X is exactly the type of solution we look for when creating new technologies that meet our customer’s needs and regulatory requirements.”
