Hudson warns of unsafe US recovery cylinders

USA: The US refrigerant supplier and reclaimer Hudson Technologies has warned of illegal and unsafe recovery cylinders entering the US market.

The company warns that it cannot and will not accept these cylinders, which it says are not manufactured to US Department of Transportation (DOT) specifications.

The cylinders, it claims, are marketed under the Olenyer, Fahkns or Vevor brands, but may also be sold under other branding.

The cylinder sizes are 30 and 50lb cylinders but are smaller than DOT-compliant 30 and 50lb cylinders. cylinders.

To identify the cylinders, Hudson Technologies says that DOT Markings are missing from steel collar and there is no date of manufacture and no serial number. The valve is also positioned outside the protective collar and the protective collar is also shorter than vapour and liquid valves.
