IIAR cancels ammonia refrigeration conference

USA: The IIAR 2020 Natural Refrigeration Conference & Heavy Equipment Expo, due to start in Orlando, Florida on Sunday, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus.

David Rule, president of the event organiser, International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration, has emailed all conference exhibitors, attendees and IIAR members informing them of the decision.

The cancellation was said to have been made yesterday after the World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.

“Given this significant announcement from the World Health Organisation, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the conference this year. The health and safety of the conference attendees remains our primary concern. The IIAR executive committee will meet later today to review this unprecedented situation and begin developing plans to address appropriate measures moving forward,” Rule told those affected.

The IIAR Conference & Expo was due to be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida from March 15-18. Described as the largest exposition dedicated to the “natural” refrigeration industry, it attracted over 1,700 attendees last year.

The organise promises further information over the next few weeks.
