Joachim Ley named Ziehl-Abegg CEO

GERMANY: Joachim Ley (above) has been appointed CEO of electric motor and fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg.

He replaces Dr Marc Wucherer who leaves after two years due to what has been described as a “separation of both parties”.

Ley, who holds a degree in industrial engineering, has been active as the company’s COO since 2021, where he was responsible for production, purchasing, central logistics and processes.

Prior to joining Ziehl-Abegg, he was a member of the board of directors of aircraft seating company Recaro for many years.

Ziehl-Abegg is also seeking a replacement for CFO Olaf Kanig, who is making “a change in career direction” after five years in the role. He will remain as CFO until a new appointment is made.
