Latvia becomes 43rd to ratify Kigali

LATVIA: The number of countries to have ratified the Kigali amendment to phase down HFC refrigerants has risen to 43 following the signature of Latvia.
Latvia’s is the 14th EU member state to ratify and follows that of its neighbour Lithuania, which ratified last month along with West Africa’s Burkina Faso.
The global agreement to phase down HFCs will enter into force on January 1, 2019.
