Lennox to acquire HVAC supplier Heat Controller

USA: Lennox has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Heat Controller, the Michigan-based owner of the Comfort-Aire and Century HVAC brands.

Originally founded in 1933, moving into its Jackson, Michigan, facility in 1955, it focused on room air conditioners, central air conditioning, and dehumidifiers under the Comfort-Aire brand. It acquired the Century brand in 1975 and Aitons’ Equipment Inc of Canada in 2000.

Lennox says that the acquisition will strengthen its ability to serve small and mid-size HVAC distributors. 

The acquisition is expected to close later this year, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
