Lindab buys Irish duct company

The AC Manufacturing facility in Dublin

SWEDEN/IRELAND: Ventilation company Lindab International has acquired Dublin-based ductwork manufacturer AC Manufacturing.

Founded in 1999, and with an annual turnover of approximately €6m, AC Manufacturing is reputed to be the largest manufacturer of ventilation ducting in Ireland. Its advanced 45,000ft² production facility is housed in two units in Ballycoolin Road, Cappoge.

AC Manufacturing has existing connections with Lindab, having been agents for the Swedish manufacturer’s range of circular fittings.

The acquisition was made through Lindab (Irl) Ltd. The seller was Shay Connolly, chairman and managing director of AC Manufacturing Ltd.

Lindab claims to be Ireland’s largest distributor of specialist ventilation equipment. With the addition of AC Manufacturing Ltd, it can now offer a full range of ventilation products and systems in the Irish market, from ducting to air handling units.

“We feel confident that the combined businesses of Lindab and AC Manufacturing will further strengthen our ability to respond to the Irish market demands in a growing and more advanced ventilation market,” commented Lindab (Irl) MD Patrick Boland.
