Liquid desiccant system wins AHR Expo product award

USA: Florida-based Blue Frontier’s outdoor air system was named Product of the Year at this week’s AHR Expo in Las Vegas.

The 15 ton BF-DOAS (Blue Frontier Dedicated Outdoor Air System) is described as a sustainable air conditioning system that uses a liquid desiccant instead of traditional refrigerants to dehumidify and ventilate fresh air.

The BF-DOAS was chosen as the outright winner of the AHR Expo’s Innovation Awards, having earlier been named as winner in the exhibition’s Sustainable Solutions category.

The system is designed to improve indoor air quality and energy efficiency by pre-conditioning 100% outdoor air to a desired temperature and humidity level before it enters a building’s main HVAC system.

Said to be 300% more efficient than current technologies, it contains a dispatchable thermal storage battery and can independently control db and dp.
