MHI receives its largest ever chiller order

JAPAN: In what is said to be its largest ever order, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) is to supply 13 centrifugal chillers with a total cooling capacity of 36,400 TR for a large-scale district cooling system in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) area.

The value of the order is not reported but delivery is scheduled for completion in September 2014.

The AART-280HPL, running on R134a, will serve as the thermal energy source for an ice storage system.

KLCC is Kuala Lumpur’s main business district, perhaps best known for the Petronas Twin Towers – the 452m-high, 88-storey skyscrapers completed in 1997. The area is also home to the Suria KLCC shopping complex, the Aquaria KLCC oceanarium, a park and a philharmonic hall.
