Nominations sought for Gold Medal

UK: The Institute of Refrigeration is seeking nominations for those who have made outstanding technical achievements in refrigeration.

The annual internationally-respected J&E Hall International Gold Medal, now in its 40th year, recognises individuals or teams with recent outstanding achievements in refrigeration and related fields. These might include practical applications of innovative designs, outstanding projects, systems with real potential or significant work in a new or unusual area.

The award is designed to encourage progress rather than acknowledge past achievement and the winner will join a select list of recipients that includes refrigeration greats such as Prof Gustav Lorentzen, Prof Ole Fanger, Prof Don Cleland, Ron Conry and Prof Pega Hrnjak.

The presentation will take place at the 118th Institute of Refrigeration Annual Dinner in London in February. The winner will receive a gold medal to hold for one year, a silver replica to keep and a cash award of £5,000.

Information about the award and a nomination pack is available at www.ior.org.uk/awardsNominations are requested by the 15 October.
