Panasonic completes Area Cooling purchase

POLAND: Panasonic has completed the acquisition of Polish refrigeration equipment manufacturer Area Cooling Solutions Sp zoo, a subsidiary of the Barcelona-based distribution business.

The condensing units business located in Wrocław, will operate under the name Panasonic Cold Chain Poland (Panasonic CCS).

Panasonic’s acquisition is described as a strategic move to create a more robust player in the CO₂ refrigeration market across Europe.

Panasonic CCS will continue the production of Area Cooling’s iCOOL and other refrigeration condensing units to ensure a steady supply of spare parts for these products.

Meanwhile, Area Cooling Solutions refrigeration and air conditioning distribution business has been acquired by Belgian company IPCOM. Its Warsaw-based compressor and component distribution company is not part of the Panasonic purchase.
