Probation for R404A smuggler

USA: An HVAC engineer has received three-year’s probation for intentionally failing to present refrigerant tanks for inspection when attempting to enter the United States from Mexico.
On April 22, 2024, Jose Manuel Valenzuela failed to declare four 24lb (10kg) tanks of R404A refrigerant that were in his vehicle.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was also required to pay $7,399 in restitution.
