Refrigerant producers record sales boosts

USA: The two leading refrigerant producers, Chemours and Solstice (formerly Honeywell), have reported large sales increases for 2025.

In its latest filing, Chemours reported a record performance in its Thermal & Specialised Solutions (TSS) business driven by a 56% increase in sales of its Opteon refrigerants.

Solstice had earlier reported refrigerant net sales increases of 16%, driven by adoption of low-GWP solutions and growing demand from data centre and nuclear applications. Overall, Solstice net sales for 2025 were $3.9bn, up 3% on the previous year.

While Chemours’ net sales for the group were flat in 2025 at $5.8bn, CEO Denise Dignam highlighted the company’s continued momentum in Opteon refrigerants sales and the record year for TSS.
