Refrigerant supplier group will fight illegal trade
25th June 2026
BELGIUM: European refrigerant manufacturers, distributors and reclaimers have come together to form a new association to promote circularity, and ensure the effective implementation of, and compliance with, EU regulations.
Billed as the voice of refrigerant distribution in Europe, Euredia represents refrigerant distributors, repackers and reclaimers, bringing together companies from every aspect of the value chain.
The group insists that Euredia has been established to protect the integrity of the European refrigerant market and ensure that EU climate legislation delivers real impact. It claims to be focused on three core priorities: to support the effective implementation of EU climate and refrigerant legislation, and promote compliance, market integrity and circularity across Europe’s refrigerant market.
The 10 founding members comprise refrigerant supplier and management company A-Gas, Swedish wholesaling group Beijer Ref, Belgian distributor Climalife, French distributor Group Gazechim Froid, Italian distributor General Gas, Spanish manufacturer GRIT, Greek distributor John Kontes SA, Japanese industrial gas supplier Nippon Sanso, Italian distributor Tazzetti and German industrial gas supplier Westfalen.
One of the main reasons for the new association seems to be as a means to counter the continuing threat from the illegal refrigerant market, while also promoting greater reclamation activity.
Chair of the new association is Hans Craen, head of government affairs Europe at A-Gas. He is supported by vice chair Carmine Marotta, general manager at General Gas, and treasurer Vincent de Badereau, affairs policy advisor at Climalife.
The secretariat is being managed by Logos, a public affairs consultancy headquartered in Brussels.
