Safety and enviro laws in commercial refrigeration

BELGIUM: Eurovent has released a new recommendation on applying European safety and environmental laws to commercial refrigeration.

The comprehensive guide covers the design, installation, maintenance, and decommissioning of systems, serving as a eference for manufacturers, installers, maintenance technicians, designers, and operators.

The document covers a full overview of the regulatory and standardisation framework for refrigeration systems and equipment, and on safety classifications and environmental impact of refrigerants, including those affected by the PFAS issue under REACH.

“This recommendation equips the industry with essential clarity at a crucial time. By aligning technical practice with evolving safety and environmental rules, we help ensure that refrigeration systems remain safe, sustainable, and future-ready across all EMEA markets,” commented Eurovent’s commercial refrigeration equipment group secretary.
