Seminar series on low GWP refrigerants

AUSTRALIA: Following a successful pilot event in February, an industry-led education initiative will deliver a series of seminars on new low GWP refrigerants across Australia.

Called Future:gas, the seminars are designed to prepare air conditioning and refrigeration businesses and technicians for systems and equipment using the new refrigerants – HFOs, CO2, ammonia and hydrocarbons.

The organisers point out that these refrigerants, and the components and systems designed for them, will present significant changes to the tools, working practices, standards and workplace safety considerations relating to installation, repair, service and refrigerant recovery.

The 12 one-day seminars will take place on mid-week evenings between June and September with presentations from top industry experts. Topics to be covered include the reason for the changes, the technical background of the new refrigerants, new safe working practices and standards relating to the quality and design of both components and service equipment.

Dates and venues are: Newcastle NSW (June 19), Sydney NSW (June 20), Canberra ACT (June 22), Townsville QLD (July 18), Brisbane QLD (July 19), Rockhampton QLD (July 20), Adelaide SA (August 1), Perth WA (August 2), Darwin NT (August 3), Melbourne VIC (September 5), Hobart TAS (September 6) Albury NSW (September 7).

Spaces are limited, so early booking is advised. Tickets, subsidised by contributions from industry associations and corporate sponsorship, are priced at just $10 per delegate and available from www.futuregas.ac through a secure online booking system.
