THAILAND: Daikin’s Thai distributor Siam Daikin Sales has received recognition from Thailand’s Ministry of Labour for its support of the government’s R32 air conditioning training drive.

In February last year, Siam Daikin Sales signed a deal with Thailand’s Department of Skill Development to operate its Chang Air DD course, with the objective of training engineers on the proper method of installing and maintaining R32 split-type air conditioners.

As an emerging country, Thailand has been quickening the pace for conversion away from R22 to refrigerants with low impact on global warming. It announced a policy to complete conversion from R22 to R32 by 2017.

The training courses have been held in 13 provinces across the country this year. A total of 690 air conditioner technicians have now completed this training.

In recognition of its support, Nakorn Silpa-archa, permanent secretary at the Ministry of Labour presented Bundit Srivallapanondh, managing director of Siam Daikin Sales with a plaque in recognition of the company’s support. Siam Daikin Sales had supplied 14 Daikin Inverter R32 Smile air conditioners and equipment to the course.
