Swedish group SKVP joins REAL Alternatives

SWEDEN: SKVP, the Swedish cooling and heat pump association, has become the country’s national lead on the REAL Alternatives low GWP refrigerant training consortium.

The addition of SKVP brings the total number of countries to have joined REAL Alternatives since its inception in 2015 to 25 globally, 21 of those being in Europe.

REAL Alternatives was established to deliver high-quality, consistent low GWP training by providing the training materials for the national lead to register trainers and deliver the training in their own country.

The SKVP fosters knowledge development amongst its 700+ members through research and industry standards. It also engages with policymakers, highlighting the industry’s importance and advocating for sustainability through natural refrigerants and energy efficient solutions.

In joining the project, the SKVP commented: “We find it necessary to provide good training material in Swedish for the industry now that everyone who works with refrigerants must have the right skills. Real Alternatives provides a good foundation to be able to do that and will also become accessible to everyone. It is hugely important as the changeover to alternative refrigerants will now proceed quickly.”
