Swegon merges Zent-Frenger and Barcol-Air

SWEDEN: The Swedish HVAC equipment manufacturer Swegon has combined its Zent-Frenger and Barcol-Air Production businesses under the new name Swegon Operations HEP GmbH.

Swegon acquired the German radiant ceiling company Zent-Frenger in 2018 and took control of Barcol-Air when it bought its Dutch parent company, HC Group, in 2024.

The Swedish company says that the merger aims to combine expertise, leverage synergies, and further strengthen its market position in energy-efficient system solutions for a healthy indoor climate.

The new business will be centred on its headquarters in Heppenheim, Germany. Swegon insists that the name change will not affect existing business relationships, contracts, or contact persons.

“With the company name change, we are creating a clear and uniform structure that makes our membership in the Swegon Group more visible and, at the same time, strengthens our operational capabilities. For our customers, continuity in terms of quality, contacts, and services remains, of course, guaranteed,” said Stefan Steckel, the MD of Zent-Frenger, who will head the new business.
