SWEDEN: Systemair AB has signed an agreement to acquire NADI Airtechnics Ltd, a leading Indian manufacturer of industrial fans.
NADI Airtechnics produces engineered industrial fans including centrifugal blowers, axial fans, centrifugal fans and railway cooling fans.
With its head office and manufacturing plant in Chennai, NADI has more than 220 workers and had revenues of approximately €13.5m in FY24/25.
“This acquisition adds strong industrial fans competence and brings a complementary product range for industrial applications to Systemair,” commented Systemair CEO Roland Kasper. “NADI provides us with a leading position in India on industrial fans and the railway segment, with competence and products on high-performance blowers and fans for industrial applications,” he added.
“The acquisition of NADI will strengthen our position in the industrial segment and expand our presence in India, which is a targeted growth area for Systemair. Through NADI´s excellent range of smaller axial fans, we will get a competitive range to complement our offering for infrastructure projects. In addition, we see great potential in scaling NADI’s sales also in Europe and US for railway and MRT applications.”
NADI was established in 1955 by the Kamdar family marketing and servicing industrial and agricultural machinery. A small manufacturing unit was set up in 1962 with production facility eventually focused on the manufacture of industrial fans from 1973 onwards.
In 1985 the company began to manufacture high efficiency fans in accordance with German company Enercon. In 1990 it added axial fans to the range incorporating axial impellers of adjustable pitch blades manufactured by UK company Elta Fans.
A tie up with Titan Fans of Australia in 1992 added axial fans of up to 4m diameter. Between 2004 and 2013, the NADI collaborated in a joint venture with Twin City Fans Companies of the USA, with the company briefly known as TCF-NADI Industrial Fans. In March 2013, the Kamdar family bought over the shares of TCF and the company reverted to its original ownership and original name.
