TEGA gains rights to hydrocarbon blends

TEGA
The TEGA gas centre in Würzburg

GERMANY: TEGA has received exclusive rights to blend and distribute two new hydrocarbon refrigerants.

The agreement with US company AS Trust & Holdings involves two refrigerants HCR188C1 (R441A) and HCR188C1 (R443A). AS Trust & Holdings holds patents on both gases.

R441A is a blend of ethane, propane, isobutane and n-butane, designed for use in domestic refrigerators and stand-alone freezers and vending machines.

R443A, a blend of propylene, propane and isobutane, has been developed for residential air conditioning, heat pumps and portable air conditioners.

The agreement signed by TEGA (Technische Gase und Gasetechnik GmbH), a subsidiary of the Linde Group, covers blending the ASHRAE-listed hydrocarbon refrigerants and distribution rights in the European Union.
