Trane introduces digital maintenance contracts

BELGIUM: Trane has introduced digitally-enabled service agreements to provide remote diagnostics of performance data, early fault detection, targeted maintenance, and more efficient heating and cooling operations.

By the early detection of subtle changes in system behaviour, Trane’s connected mechanical service agreements (CMSA) enable targeted maintenance before issues escalate, helping to resolve faults faster, improve efficiency and extend the operational life of equipment.

Trane describes it as a shift from traditional site-based troubleshooting and reactive repairs, towards continuous remote monitoring, routine digital inspections and proactive response from service technicians, supporting faster resolution and informed data-based planning.

Trane CMSA is available in tiered service levels, from real-time data dashboards to advanced remote diagnostics. This, Trane says, enables all customers to benefit from its IoT and analytic capabilities, tailored to their budget and operational needs.

“As advances in AI and digital technology make buildings more connected than ever, the way heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are maintained needs to evolve,” stated Louis Rompre, Trane EMEA’s services business leader.

“Rather than simply adding sensors to equipment, we can now use continuous data monitoring, predictive analysis and remote diagnostics to empower technicians with insights that keep the systems running at peak performance.“

The technicians are now equipped with digital tools to identify issues sooner, troubleshoot faster and keep customers better informed every step of the way. Through continuous monitoring and digital inspections we can detect elusive trends before they become problems, turning insights into opportunities,” Rompre added.

Embedded sensors, setpoints, and operational data are communicated to the cloud, providing continuous information on system performance. Cloud-based analytics convert this raw data into actionable insights, offering facility managers and servicing partners real-time performance data, historical trends, mechanical problem alerts, maintenance recommendations, and energy consumption metrics.

“Connected mechanical services can transform how facility managers maintain, service, and manage their HVAC assets,” Rompre explained. “Embracing connected service agreements generates significant savings in time and money, improves business outcomes, and enhances peace of mind. As we look to the future, these innovative solutions will be essential in maintaining the aging infrastructure of commercial buildings.”
