US AC and heat pump shipments down 20% in 2025

USA: US shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps fell again in December, decreasing 21.4% to 408,244 units, compared to December 2024.

Shipments for the year decreased 20%, to 7,749,529, compared to 9,681,770 units shipped during 2024.

Annual shipments of central air conditioners decreased 26.2%, to 4,104,933 units, compared to 5,559,766 units shipped in 2024.

Heat pump shipments decreased 11.6%, to 3,644,596, compared to 4,122,004 units shipped in 2024.
