US AC and HP shipments up 11.4%

USA: US shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps totalled 756,739 units in August, an increase of 11.4% on August 2025. 

The latest figures listed by the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute show shipments of 418,323 air conditioners, up 17.2%, with air-source heat pumps numbering 338,416, an  increase of 5% on the previous August.

Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners are up 6.5% at 3,481,613 units compared to the same period in 2025. The total this year for heat pumps is 2,908,644, an increase of 5.7%.
