US aircon and heat pump shipments up 5.1%

USA: US shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps reached 837,098 units in April, an increase of 5.1% compared to April 2025. 

Breaking down the latest figures from the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), there were 456,210 air conditioners shipped, up 8%, and 380,888 air-source heat pumps, an increase of 1.8%.

Year-to-date shipments of central air conditioners stand at 1,431,974 units, down 7.5% on 2025. For heat pumps, shipments are up 1.2% on 2025, totalling 1,341,458 units.
