USA/China reaffirm HFC phase-down deal
CHINA: US president Barack Obama has reaffirmed the bilateral agreement with president Xi Jinping of China to phase-down the use of high GWP HFC refrigerants.
In this week’s state visit in China, the two heads of state reaffirmed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation on climate change.
Among other things, the two sides established the US-China Climate Change Working Group (CCWG), under which they have launched action on a range of climate initiatives as well as agreeing to work together towards the global phase down of HFCs.
