Van de Sande re-elected as AREA president

BELGIUM: Coen van de Sande, director of Dutch association NVKL, was re-elected president of European contractors group AREA for a further two years at AREA’s general assembly last week.

Stepan Stojanov, director of the Czech Republic’s SCHKT training centre, was elected as the new vice president at the annual meeting in Belfast.

Established in 1989, AREA includes 26 national associations from 24 European countries amongst its membership, representing more than 13,000 companies with a total turnover of €23bn.

Two new members were admitted this year: the Association of Refrigeration Engineers of Latvia and the Association of Fluorinated Gas Companies of Romania.
