Wildfire victims receive Daikin cooling
22nd March 2024USA: Daikin is supplying dual-zone heating and cooling systems for shelters set up for victims of last year’s wildfires In Hawaii.
Daikin Comfort Technologies, the US subsidiary of the Japanese manufacturer, has teamed up with Hawaii-based solar company RevoluSun to provide 88 dual-zone heating and cooling systems for emergency modular shelters at the Ohana Hope Village in west Maui. The units were supplied through Daikin’s local distributor Cosco Air Conditioning & Refrigeration.
In addition to the cooling systems, RevoluSun is developing solar energy and storage systems to power the emergency housing village, constructed on 10 acres of leased land.
The first residents are expected to move into Ohana Hope Village this spring. The community could transition into permanent affordable housing after wildfire victims find permanent homes.
