WRD founder to expand Haier’s knowledge base

UK: Haier has confirmed the appointment of Steve Gill, founder of World Refrigeration Day (WRD), as its head of industry insights within its European HVAC business.
Appointed in March to expand the company’s knowledge base, Gill will represent Haier at a range of industry forums, events, and professional bodies.
Gill founded World Refrigeration Day in 2019 with the support of over 100 trade associations and professional bodies from around the world.
A past president of the Institute of Refrigeration, he currently serves as vice president of the ASHRAE UK Chapter, having previously been its inaugural president.
In addition to his leadership within major industry organisations, he is an active member of CIBSE and the Energy Institute (UK). He is also involved with several United Nations-led initiatives, including the UN Cool Coalition and UNEP’s Women in Cooling programme.
