ISD completes 150th coldstore for Morrisons

150th-ISD-Solutions-MorrisonsUK: ISD Solutions has completed a landmark 150th coldstore for Morrisons supermarkets at an M local store in Gloucester.

Under the contract, ISD Solutions’ Retail division provided complete design, manufacture and installation services for each coldstore facility and in Gloucester, installed a dual temperature storage compartment measuring 6m by 3.35m that provides walk in food storage for temperature sensitive produce with sufficient storage capacity between deliveries.

Explaining that having the right cold storage facilities in place is crucial to Morrisons, the retailer’s head of refrigeration Colin Coe said: “ISD Solutions has easily fulfilled our requirements and helped us to do just that.”

Each cold store is designed to provide thermally efficient, food safe storage with temperatures down to -20ºC, with easy-clean finishes. The rooms are manufactured from 80mm and 100mm PIR rigid thermal insulation panels with two hinged doors manufactured in house.

“Fast installation, often within a two day time-frame to accommodate other key contractors has been a key factor,” explained ISD Solutions’ Andrew Hudspith. “Also the ability to provide design, manufacturing and installation on multiple simultaneous projects, built to International Association for Cold Storage Construction standards, together with our large scale experience on projects such as the Morrisons distribution centre in Bridgewater, have all been important factors,” he added.
