Frascold screws for high temp heat pumps

ITALY: A new generation of Frascold Nexus screw compressors has been introduced for the high temperature industrial heat pump sector.

Key to the new models is the integration of high-efficiency motors, sized to operate in extreme thermal conditions. The insulation plate has also been reinforced and thermal protection upgraded.

The expansion of temperature limits allows fluids up to 100°C to be handled in suction, while delivering at up to 150°C.

Further modification involve the use of new generation high tolerance materials for the bearings and changes to the lubrication circuit.

The Nexus range covers displacements from 316m3/h to 912m3/h at 50Hz and motor power from 130hp to 300hp.

They are designed for use with R1233zd or hydrocarbons such as butane and isopentane, and supports external inverters in the 30-60Hz range.

Frascold has specified a specially formulated oil, which reduces the solubility of the refrigerant in the oil and ensures optimal viscosity under all operating conditions.
