Johnson Controls adds York heat pumps

IRELAND: Johnson Controls has launched two new York air-to-water industrial heat pumps, the YMAE and YCPB.

The YMAE and YCPB are designed for light commercial operations such as small shopping centres, hospitals, hotels, office buildings and schools, catering to different capacity requirements. Both products employ R454B refrigerant.

The YMAE inverter scroll heat pump is a new-generation of its Amichi series. Available in capacities from 45-300kW, it is optimised with the combination of an inverter scroll compressor, EC fans and a York Smart control system to adjust capacity output to changes in building load.

It boasts increased seasonal efficiencies up to 4.06 heating and 4.72 cooling. Its Enhanced Vapour Inject (EVI) system is designed to enable the YMAE to function at ambient temperatures down to -25ºC and up to 60ºC hot water.

The first model, a 130kW unit, will be available in the second quarter of this year, followed by other model capacity in multiple phases.

The YCPB packaged air-to-water scroll heat pump is specifically designed for low ambient heating solutions thanks to its vapour and liquid injection large scroll compressors.

In capacities from 300-700kW, the YCPB is intended to offer the same extended operating envelope as YMAE, while ensuring heating capacity, efficiency, and hot water temperature at low ambient.

The YCPB range is designed in two-pipe and four-pipe versions for simultaneous heating and cooling applications. Both versions are said to offer market-leading  SCOP efficiencies. YCPB units will be available in Europe from the third quarter of 2024.
