MHI redesigns central controller

JAPAN: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has completely redesigned its centralised remote controller for medium and large-scale facilities.

SL5 is equipped with a capacitive touch-screen panel similar to that of smartphones, allowing intuitive operation. The LCD screen has also been enlarged from 9in (229mm) on the previous model to 10.4in (264mm), while the device’s depth has been slimmed down from 90mm to 50mm.

In addition, the SL5 can connect up to 256 devices, enabling centralised management of air conditioning and commercial heat pumps. It allows the operating status and settings of multiple units to be centrally monitored and controlled, and can provide a mapped status overview of the entire operation for the facility.

A new Floor classification, in addition to the existing Block and Group classification, share detailed area classification and tailor control to the building’s structure. The Block setting is designed for areas such as elevator lobby’s and other communal spaces, while the Group setting is for individual offices and meeting rooms, and the Floor setting designed for each floor.

The new models – SC-SL5-E for global markets and SC-SL5 for the Japanese market will launch sequentially.
