PHNIX produces R290 indoor monobloc heat pump
18th April 2026
CHINA: Chinese heat pump manufacturer PHNIX has launched AirMono, an R290 indoor monobloc heat pump, specifically engineered for the European market.
AirMono offers a heating, cooling, and DHW solution that eliminates the traditional outdoor unit, and, according to PHNIX, solves the problem of limited space for millions of residential retrofits.
By utilising an indoor-mounted design with air ducting, the AirMono can preserve building facades while fitting comfortably inside kitchens, utility rooms, or garages. It can also connect directly to a user’s existing water tank, serving as the perfect indoor replacement for traditional gas or oil boilers. It perfectly combines functionality with aesthetics, allowing for a seamless, low-cost transition to green energy.
Boasting A+++ energy rating, PHNIX claims the AirMono qualifies for the UK BUS grant and qualifies for substantial BEG funding in Germany.
A special three-side quick-access design allows technicians to service core piping and electrical components without moving the unit.
Equipped with a gas separator and R290 leak detector, the system is said to rapidly detect leaking refrigerant and actively discharges it. One minute after startup, the system monitors refrigerant concentration in realtime. If values exceed preset thresholds, it triggers shutdown protection, and the fan adjusts to preset speed to vent refrigerant outdoors.
